"I love the laid-back style of La Clusaz, which oozes French character and a varied ski area. And being just an hour’s drive from Geneva, it’s my ideal short break destination! "

Dining in La Clusaz

La Clusaz is one of the resorts in the Alps well endowed with dining choices, with around 70 restaurants to choose from. As this is not the usual French seasonal resort, many of these are year-round, family-run establishments, proud of their home cooked food using local produce, sometimes from their own farms. Reblochon cheese which is used to make tartiflette comes from the Aravis area so there are few better resorts in which to enjoy this local speciality!

For those with a big appetite, L'Auberge des Aravis in the Hotel des Aravis offers an all-you-can-eat buffet of local Savoyard specialities. Close by the ski school's ski garden, the afternoon crêpes buffet complete with chocolate fountain is also bound to appeal to families with hungry children!

There are some lovely atmospheric options at the higher culinary end too, including La Scierie, located in an old sawmill and with dining in front of a wonderful open fire. L'Arbé and Le Chalet du Lac are also normally excellent.

Of course there are plenty of restaurants serving international dishes too and lots of choices for French Alpine favourites – crepes and pizza! Pizzaminut in the church square is a long standing favourite for the latter, eat in or take away, although L’Outa gives it some friendly competition.

At the fine dining end of the spectrum, look no further than Le Cinq, the gastronomic restaurant at the 5-star Hotel Au Coeur du Village (dinner only). A relatively new gourmet restaurant L'Ourson is also proving to be hugely popular, especially with its good value set menus including one for kids!
