Traditional Alpine Charm Jennifer Fraser, Agency Sales Executive

"I love the laid-back style of La Clusaz, which oozes French character and a varied ski area. And being just an hour’s drive from Geneva, it’s my ideal short break destination! "

Activities in La Clusaz

Non-skiing activities in La Clusaz include ice skating, paintballing, snowshoeing, paragliding, dog sledding, ski joering (and pony sledging for little ones!), snowmobiling and quad bike rides. There is also a cinema and an aqua centre with indoor and outdoor heated swimming pools and Jacuzzi as well as a fitness area (over 16s only) with gym, sauna, steam bath and relaxation room. Swiming lessons, including baby lessons on Sunday mornings, are available.

The ice rink hosts various kid-friendly events too such as a Disco on Ice once a week and it also has an Ice Garden where kids aged 2-10 can learn how to ice skate with their parents without hordes of adults zooming about (please check days and times with the tourist office).

From the top of the Beauregard cable car, and accompanied by an instructor, you can also wind your way down a 7 km trail to La Clusaz on a sledge or yooner.

For something a bit different, you can even visit a farm to see how reblochon cheese is made! There is also a new Alpine Hamlet on the banks of the river Nom, just a short walk from the village, where you can discover more about the area's culture and heritage with an information centre on Reblochon cheese, a history of skiing museum as well as a community oven, a traditional granary and an old sawmill.

The resort has better shopping than most French resorts with more than 150 shops of all kinds to wander past, or in to. The chocolatière in the village centre is a window you’ll probably linger by and struggle not to be tempted in by!

La Clusaz hosts several major events throughout the winter season, many of them unique, and we highly recommend you check out what's on with the local tourist information office so you don't miss out. On top of that, they put on lots of activities every week, particularly for families (but by no means exclusively!), so it really is worth checking this out in advance to make the most of your holiday.
