Picturesque Swiss Resort Claire Erskine, Product Manager

"I think Villars is an ideal resort for a family holiday or a short break. Non-skiers can easily meet skiers for lunch – Restaurant le Col de Bretaye is great for this purpose. Head to the Moon Boot bar for an après-ski mojito!"

Villars Ski Holidays

Surrounded by panoramic views from Lake Geneva to Mont Blanc, Villars is a picturesque haven offering something for everyone.

Villars has long been a favourite with families looking for a winter ski holiday to suit all ages and abilities and having been awarded the Swiss Tourist Federations ‘Families Welcome’ seal this has only confirmed what we already knew.

Incorporating the two smaller areas of Villars/Bretaye and Gryon, Villars offers over 100km of ski slopes with something to suit every kind of skier. The Villars ski area has recently been linked to the neighbouring resorts of Leysin and Les Mosses on the Alpes Vaudoises lift pass allowing access to 225km or runs and including the 3000m Diablerets glacier. The off-piste skiing in Villars is also considered a well kept secret, meaning you can be sure of finding some fresh lines on a powder day.

Villars has some excellent dining options including traditional mountain fondue dishes at Le Chalet, family pleasing Italian food at La Pizzeria or for those after something a bit more gourmet Le Jardin des Alpes is the place to find fresh new menu choices every week.

There is also a lively après-ski scene at many of the bars throughout the village where you can enjoy some vin chaud, live music and good company.
