"I love the laid-back style of La Clusaz, which oozes French character and a varied ski area. And being just an hour’s drive from Geneva, it’s my ideal short break destination! "

Après Ski in La Clusaz

There is a fantastic selection of bars and restaurants in La Clusaz, you'll be hard pushed not to find one to suit you! The resort also hosts an impressive events calendar of après activities in its own right, there really will be something for everyone.

Après on the mountain starts around 3pm in most places with Relais de l'Aiguille proving a popular choice with skiers and boarders stopping for drinks on the way home. Le Bercail is also a great choice and is a superb sun trap in the later winter months.

When it comes to the town, the selection of bars and night spots in La Clusaz is far bigger and far more authentic than most well-known French resorts – this is a genuine year round community so most venues are run long term by dedicated staff!

Located in the top part of the village (above the little supermarket), lounge bar Le Bal is a good place to party with an outdoor heated terrace and regular live music during the season. Salto, located next to the departure of the Crêt du Merle chairlift, is also known for having a fun and lively alpine atmosphere and shows most sports too.

For anyone looking for a slightly quieter time after a hard day on the slopes, Les Caves du Paccaly is a good choice - filled with rustic alpine charm it's an experience in its own right. Located in the town centre, its warm and friendly atmosphere makes it a stand out establishment for anyone visiting the resort.

Equally relaxing is Le Grenier with its large, warming fireplace. Enjoy a variety of platters and canapés ranging from traditional Savoyard to modern Mexican. And next to this venue, new bar Le Refuge offers up amazing cocktails in a night club/lounge atmosphere.

Vins quand tu veux is a wine shop so not open as late as some of the other après venues, but they have a fantastic wine menu if you fancy a little wine tasting after skiing.

In addition to an already long list of options, the resort’s tourist office makes a real effort to add a plethora of community activities virtually every night that are usually lots of fun to attendvin chaud get-togethers in the village square at the start of your stay and other events such as torchlight descents.

The resort also hosts a full moon party each season and this is not something to be missed. A combined night of skiing and après party on the slopes by moonlight. This really is a one of a kind event. If however, you’re not there on the full moon night (or even if you are) there are always the two nightclubs, open to 5am, with L’Ecluse renowned for having a glass dance floor located above a flowing mountain stream.

The bowling alley offers four bowling lanes and a bar serving cold meats, cheese and tapas. Open every day in high season (and on Fridays/Saturdays only during low season), this fun après-ski activity is sure to bring out the competitive streak in you!

Last, but by no means least, those aged 18 years old or more with a good level of fitness can spend a night in an igloo - this involves a snowshoe hike followed by building your own igloo! You can then enjoy a fondue evening and sleep in your igloo before heading back down to the centre of La Clusaz with your snowshoes the following morning.

For a resort not known for its après, La Clusaz has a lot to offer!
