"If you're looking for great skiing, a lively town and a short transfer, then Les Gets is a perfect choice - it's easy to see why it's one of the most popular choices for British skiers. Les Gets was the first overseas resort I skied and it's still up there as my favourite!"

Activities in Les Gets

Aside from skiing and snowboarding, there are plenty of activities in Les Gets. Thanks to its close proximity to Morzine, visitors can also take advantage of activities in this neighbouring resort.

The compact village of Les Gets offers good shopping with a typical mixture of upmarket boutiques and fabulous Savoyard specialist food shops. For those still wanting a little more exercise, there is a charming outdoor ice rink in the heart of the village.

Indoor options include a bowling centre, cinema, several spa and fitness centres and a unique museum of mechanical music boxes! Places such as the Palais des Sports are also worth keeping in mind for their local ice hockey team matches throughout the season.

There is a wide variety of courses and visits you can try while staying in Les Gets. Eternally popular, especially with children, are chocolate making courses, but there are also various art and craft classes or you could go on a visit to a small local cheese farm.

Outdoor options in Les Gets include cross-country skiing, ski joering (being towed behind a pony on your skis), snowshoeing treks and there’s the aforementioned ice rink. You can also try climbing with a guide, dog sledding or paragliding down from the mountain tops.
