Home of the Majestic Matterhorn Gareth Pilkington, Sales Manager

"Skiing in the shadow of the Matterhorn is an awesome experience. The skiing in Zermatt is as good as the scenery, there is so much terrain here and it is really well linked too. Skiing in to Italy for lunch is a good thing to do, I had a great (long) lunch at Cope Pan in Cervinia and I highly recommend it. After dark you need to find Z’alt Hischis where they serve the biggest measures I have ever seen!"

Dining in Zermatt

You will not be short of dining options in Zermatt with an abundance of restaurants serving up traditional Swiss cuisine; a few of our favourites include Elsie's Bar, an old ski log cabin which serves up an extensive list of cocktails, alongside an eclectic menu including caviare and crème fraiche spaghetti, oysters and snails. Or for those looking for more tradional fare then the Grill Room Stockhorn is a popular choice, the regional dishes including fondue and raclette are just mouthwatering. The Schäferstube Restaurant is also highly recommended: the family rears their own lambs in Zermatt which are served in the restaurant – booking is essential!
