United Airlines

United Airlines offers a comprehensive schedule of daily flights to all of our US resorts with direct flights from London Heathrow to Denver, Newark, San Francisco and Los Angeles. We also offer daily indirect flights (via Denver mostly) to Salt Lake City, Jackson Hole, Hayden and Aspen as well as many others. We can also offer transatlantic services from Edinburgh to Newark, and then onwards to most of our US destinations.

When you fly United Airlines you have the choice of the following cabins on most transatlantic flights:

Economy

Free checked baggage allowance is 1 piece – max. 23kg, (2nd piece max. 23kg is $100 each way payable at check in). Personal touch screen seat-back video system offering top entertainment. Meals, snacks and drinks. In-seat power for laptops. USB charging point. Note that there is Economy Plus - which is basically the same as Economy but with slightly enhanced legroom.

Economy Premium Plus (Premium Economy)

Free checked baggage allowance is 2 pieces – max. 23kg per piece (3rd piece max. 23kg is $200 each way payable at check in). Larger seat compared to Economy - more legroom and more elbow room - usually at the front of the economy cabin. Personal touch screen seat-back video system offering top entertainment. Polaris Class (Business)

Free checked baggage allowance is 2 pieces – max. 32kg per piece (3rd piece max. 32kg is $200 each way payable at check-in). Exclusive lounge access. Priority checkin and boarding. Separate cabin. Large seat that converts to a fully flat bed. Next generation entertainment system. Enhanced meals, snacks and drinks. In-seat power for laptops. USB charging point.

Pre-bookable seating

For passengers travelling on most Economy flight tickets there is no longer a free seating policy and you now have the option of either paying in advance for pre-assigned seating (until 24 hours prior to departure), or waiting until online checkin opens 24 hours before your flight departs to secure the seat of your choice. Pre-bookable seating varies hugely in price - please call us for details and availability. If you want to make a purchase for seating, then we need to take payment for the flight element of your booking in full, and we'll then issue your flight tickets. The functionality will then open and you'll be able to pre-purchase seating on-line via www.united.com using your specific airline reference (which we will give you). Bookings in certain higher fares in economy, most bookings with children and for those of you flying in Economy Premium Plus and Polaris Class cabins are unaffected by this policy. We will endeavour to make sure all passengers get the correct information pertinent to their specific flight booking(s) and will help with the process. We currently can’t make seating purchases on behalf of clients.

Special meals

Should any of your party require a special meal such as vegetarian, kosher or child meal on the transatlantic sections of your flight booking then this must be booked at least 7 days in advance. Please let us know as soon as possible and we’ll ensure these items are added. Remember that meal types are limited, so if you have very specific needs then it is best to take your own food with you.

Special requests

If any of your party require special assistance we can arrange this at all airports – please call us so we can assess the correct level of assistance you require. If you have food allergies or are carrying an Epi-pen or injectable medication or if there is anything else the cabin crew should be aware of confidentially, please call us for advice on 0131 243 8097.

Frequent flyer memberships

Please let us have your membership numbers and details - we will ensure these are added to your flight booking.
