Dining in Tignes
Val Claret area
A bit of a favourite, this Belgian/Savoyard restaurant guarantees a great night out. As well as the cook-your-own stuff, Saint Jacques specialises in oysters, mussels (in about 6 different ways) and tuna tartare. An added extra bonus is the 40+ selection of Belgian beers they have on offer. Try the Quak beer (it’s better than Mutzig!).
Great pizzas in a characterful restaurant that also offers a range of meat, pasta and Savoyard dishes too.
Oh La Vache
Not recommended for vegetarians, this family-run restaurant has a relatively limited menu revolving around quality cuts of meat which they cook in a wood-fire oven. There is also a fish of the day dish and cheese fondues on offer.
Using fresh ingredients, the menu fuses local specialities with a European influence and has a good wine list to boot.
La Table en Montagne
The restaurant at the Hotel Les Suites du Nevada offers a gastronomic dining experience in a contemporary setting,
The one and only kebab house in resort to satiate the late night Brit.
Le Lavachet Area
La Ferme des 3 Capucines
One of the best restaurants for traditional Savoyard food - early booking recommended!
Le Lac Area
For a change from cheese and Savoyard fare, try this Thai restaurant in Tignes Le Lac.
Odd name, but excellent food. Dishes range from Morrocan Tajines to the local staples such as pizza and fondues. A young team provide for an excellent evening out (or lunch!).
A la Creperie Bretonne
As the name suggest, this restaurant serves crêpes and galettes, the savoury version of a crêpe made with buckwheat flour.
Sit on the sunny terrace at lunchtime or snuggle up to the open fire for a cosy dinner. Choose from the varied menu of everything from steak frites to paninis to crispy duck and pancakes. The specials here are always amazing and a culinary delight.
