Family Orientated Resort Morven Dobson, Ski Specialist

"Flaine has a great location within the Grand Massif area and thanks to its altitude it’s one of the most snow-sure resorts with a short transfer from Geneva. The “Cascade” blue slope from Flaine to Sixt which offers 14km non-stop of skiing is a must do! I also highly recommend staying at either Flaine Montsoleil or Le Centaure - both very good four star residences."

Dining in Flaine

Flaine has two dozen restaurants offering a good choice of Alpine and international cuisine as well as several Italian choices, including popular Chez Pierrot, for pizza and pasta.

These are almost all family-friendly, laid back, family-run facilities – this is not the resort for those demanding Michelin starred restaurants, although there are plenty of high quality options.

Le Michet adds traditional ambience to the cuisine options as it’s based in a century old shepherd’s hut – tastefully renovated of course.

Brasserie Les Cimes in Flaine Forum offers good value with a wide menu including traditional dishes and pizzas and has friendly service and even a delivery service available. The small Grain de Sel is also excellent value.

L'Eterlou at Residence Les Terrasses d'Eos is also popular and serves tradtional French cuisine and local specialities and L'Ancolie is a mountain chalet-style restaurant complete with roaring fire and offering a warm welcome and a range of traditional dishes.

La Perdrix Noire has a great Alpine feel and a varied menu including a wide range of meat and fish dishes plus a variety of fondues. Chez Daniel serves Savoyard specialties too and a great crêpes menu.
