Over on Mary Jane those with a passion for heart-stopping bumps, chutes and tree runs can wear out their knees and burn up their quads. They say here 'No pain, No Jane.' - and they mean it. There are also some blue runs on Mary Jane to ease the cautious into the joys of pursuing rush after rush of adrenaline fuelled pleasure. Bluebell is a long trail that won't bring tears to your eyes - instead it's a cruiser's retreat with amazing views over to Berthoud Pass. For more outstanding views that give a true sense of skiing in the wilderness, ride the Timberline to Parsenn Bowl, at 12,060 this is true high alpine skiing. Wide empty spaces, beautiful glades and a landscape of cinematic proportions - this could well be the ridge 'Where the West commences.' All the skiing here is well within the range of competent intermediates. Over on Vasquez Ridge the fun continues. Everything off to the right at the top of Pioneer Express is perfect intermediate skiing - trips on this lift interspersed with dips down to the Olympia Express offer endless variety. Then there are a few single black diamonds to test your mettle - just short little blasts of action - nothing too outrageous. From here it's easy enough to dash back to the Sunspot at the top of Winter Park Mountain for a spot of lunchtime nosh - the beautiful pine lodge has gigantic windows with mystical views. They also serve dinner up here a couple of nights a week for a sense of romantic isolated splendour. Resort ReviewsHave you visited Winter Park? We would love to hear your feedback.
