Peisey-Vallandry Ski Holiday Guide
“In my opinion Vallandry must have one of the most perfect locations in the Alps, it truly has doorstep skiing! Intermediates are extremely well catered for here with a huge variety of runs from smooth cruising blues to changeling reds. The trees above Vallandry are gerat fun especially when it's chucking it down with snow and you can't see your way around the pistes.” Karen, Reservations Consultant.
With some of the best skiing in the Les Arcs area, the valley of Peisey-Vallandry also provides excellent access to the Paradiski link to La Plagne. Overlooking the Tarentaise valley at the foot of the pistes, the pretty resort of Vallandry benefits from long hours of sunshine and a superb landscape.

The south-facing Plan Peisey is situated at the foot of the slopes overlooking the large Vanoise peaks and is conveniently located next to the Vanoise Express linking to La Plagne. Skiing in Peisey-VallandryPeisey-Vallandry provides the perfect base for those wanting to make the most of the huge Paradiski area. Beginners will enjoy the wide choice of gentle and spacious tree-lined pistes running down to the resort and there is an excellent British run ski school called New Generation, based in the resort. For the intermediate skier, there are plenty of long cruisy blue runs and more confident skiers will find challenging reds and blacks as well as excellent off piste to explore. Email ski@ski-i.com What You SayClient Rating: 9/10 04/02/2011 Dave from HC TravelAs experienced Skiers, we loved Peisey and the Les Arcs area. We are high mileage skiers and there was enough for us to find new ground each day. The lift system is really very good despite the moans about slow lifts in what the publishers claim to be the skiers bible. Many of the runs are long and not too testing for the most part. You could ski a whole week on Blue runs or Reds that are not much more difficult if you wanted to and they look after the pistes very well. The tree lined runs in the Peisey Vallandry sector are beautiful and were never busy however, Peisey Vallandry would not be an ideal base for first time skiers because the beginners area is high up the mountain and not at village level. For those who want something more difficult or off piste skiing, I think this is a very good area. For us though, the whole area could do with more traditional mountain restaurants to make it perfect, but we found some good ones dotted around and they were less expensive than those we encountered in the Flaine/Grand Massif area last season. For those of us who don’t seek lively nightlife, like lots of good skiing and a nice friendly, well organised ski area, I couldn’t really fault it and will be returning for another holiday in the not too distant future. |
