Big Mountain Experience Karen Anderson, Senior Ski Specialist

"Aside from the huge ski area and variety of terrain, the thing that attracts skiers to Big Sky is how quiet it is on the slopes - lift lines here are often non-existent. Then of course there’s the snow, with the resort boasting an impressive record. The mountain village is compact, and the nearby town of Big Sky offers further variety of eating and entertainment options. Big Sky makes a great twin centre option with Jackson Hole, and I think combining the two resorts in one trip is a hard combination to beat."

Activities in Big Sky

Experience the real Montana through any or all of the following activities:

Montana Dinner Yurt

The Montana Dinner Yurt is a memorable backwoods-dining event that everyone will enjoy. You will travel by snowcat to reach an intimate dining destination, a warm and cosy candlelit yurt, hidden deep in the woods, on the slopes of Lone Peak. You will enjoy a delicious, 3-course dinner. To start, there is a warming French onion soup, followed by a tender filet mignon with a peppercorn sauce, garlic mashed potato, and sautéed vegetables. There is an alternative entrée selection of Alaskan salmon, as well as a vegetarian option. Dessert is a mouth-watering toblerone fondue! If you would like alcohol with your meal, please bring it with you.

Lone Mountain Range

Big Sky’s wonderfully traditional sleigh ride takes guests on a memorable horse-drawn journey through the pine trees to the North Fork Cabin, where you will feast on a delicious, freshly prepared dinner.

Snowcoach Yellowstone Tours

Yellowstone is virtually on your doorstep while you holiday in Big Sky, and a visit to this world-renowned National Park is highly recommended. To travel in style and comfort, take a Snowcoach tour. A knowledgeable guide will accompany you and keep you informed about the park’s history, as well as current issues, indigenous wildlife, and thermal features. Snowcoaches have access to more trails than the park-regulated snowmobile trips, and offer more frequent trips throughout the day.

Snowshoeing

Rent a pair of snowshoes and take to the trails solo, or go with an informative guide. Either way, you will have a wonderful day out, enjoying the tranquility of the mountainside and getting a good workout at the same time. A variety of trails is available in Big Sky, catering to all ability levels.

Horse Riding
