Activities in Verbier
There is a feast of activities to try while in Verbier, on and off the slopes, for both the outdoor enthusiast and those looking for something a little bit more tranquil.
Enjoy spectacular views of the Valley de Bagnes from a tandem paraglide trip. Your instructor will take care of all the steering and technical side of things whilst you just need to relax and take it all in.
For an unforgettable experience, glacier walking on the Mont Fort glacier is a must. You can reach the summit by foot however unless you plan on returning on skis or a snowboard it is recommended to take the cable car back down. All equipment is provided and it is a great option for beginners or non-skiers who might not otherwise reach these heights during the holiday.
Verbier has over 30 frozen waterfalls during the winter, so why not give ice climbing a go whilst your on holiday? Suitable for novices and experienced climbers, this is a unique activity which will be sure to give you a thrill.
Wandering peacefully through deep snow, amongst wildlife, snowshoeing is truly a relaxing activity. You can either go solo or join a group led by a local guide who will pass on everything you need to know about the area.
If your legs need a break then why not hire a toboggan for the day? There are a couple of official "tracks" up to 10km in length, which will be sure to provide some fun and games!
Whether you are looking to do a spot of ice skating yourself or watch the local ice hockey team "The Dolphins", then you should head to the Verbier sports centre. Here you will find a 60m ice rink as well as a three lane curling rink. Equipment can all be rented from the sports centre.
