"The stunning Swiss village of Andermatt is one of my favourite spots in the Alps and for those who wish to retreat for a few nights, look no further than the ineffable Chedi"

Childcare in Andermatt

Currently The Chedi Andermatt can offer in-room childcare on request. The hotel is very family friendly with children’s menus available in restaurants and the main swimming pool open to children.

The local ski area is also a good choice for families. There is an excellent fun snow play area, the Children’s Paradies Realp, with a small and easy to use ski run that’s ideal for children learning technique. Located in a sunny situation it also has a special children's ski lift.

Children aged four and over  can take classes with the Swiss Snowsports School Andermatt  (Tel: +41 (0)41 877 1240; http://www.skischuleandermatt.ch) which offers classes from 10am to 3pm daily, including lunch cover if required. There are normally between four and ten children in group classes although private lessons are also available.

Off the slopes Andermatt has a relaxed, family-friendly feel and activities such as ice skating, sleigh rides and tobogganing (see après-ski) are great for families. Making use of the resort’s toboggan run may be the only time you suggest your children ‘play in the road’ as this is a road closed to vehicles in winter, making it an excellent gentle toboggan run.  At more than three miles long it's perfect for family fun!
