Europe's Highest Resort Adam Luto, Ski Specialist

"If you’re looking for first-class skiing you will love Val Thorens. There’re lots of cruising wide pistes which are incredibly well groomed - perfect for those long carving turns. It is a high altitude resort and so has a great snow record with excellent off-piste opportunities. Isn’t this pretty much all a skier needs?"

Childcare in Val Thorens

Babies from the age of 3 months in Val Thorens can be cared for in a non-ski nursery run by the ESF which offers indoor and outdoor play for those aged under three. Spaces are limited and so advance booking is recommended.

Children aged 3 and older can take part in ski initiation lessons in a special protected ‘snow garden’ nursery area with fun figurines, child-friendly lifts and specially trained instructors. There is also a Kids Club for 3-6 year olds who either can't or don't want to ski.

Older children can take regular ski school classes and the ESF also offer the option to add on lunches for all children's group lessons if parents want a bit longer on the slopes or even a full day.

There is now a range of excellent ski schools in Val Thorens, from smaller scale British-run options to large ski schools such as the ESF who offer a huge variety of courses for all ages and abilities and have excellent beginner facilities.
