Authentic Savoyard Charm Claire Erskine, Product Manager

"Morzine is a very pretty village and is one of my favourite resorts in the Alps. Access to the surrounding ski resorts including Les Gets and Avoriaz is very easy. It’s also possible to pop over to Switzerland for the day and ski Champéry and Morgins – a great way to avoid the crowds on peak dates. There are great restaurants and bars in town, ideal for a spot of après-ski."

Activities in Morzine

The Palais Des Sports has an indoor public ice rink where local teams compete in ice hockey matches throughout the season. A second, smaller outdoor rink by the Tourist Office is also open through the winter season. There's a swimming pool with sauna and steam room available as well as a cinema showing films in English and French.

The Tourist Office also offers a programme of weekly events including visits to cheese makers, welcome drinks, tobogganing and tours of the resort. Other outdoor activities which can be sourced from the tourist office are: ice climbing, glacier walking, ice diving, night skiing, paragliding and snowmobiling to name a few.

Morzine is big enough to offer more than the usual range of family friendly facilities and has a better choice of activities for older children than many other resorts. These include alcohol-free 'teenage nights' at the Opéra disco and watching ice hockey matches in the indoor ice rink.
