Childcare in La Clusaz
La Clusaz has a strong reputation as a family-friendly destination and children will be greeted warmly in the village with special menus in the restaurants and family-orientated activities organised by the tourist office. The resort has a special French government certification for its family friendliness which involves meeting over 100 criteria on facilities and services.
Children from twelve months to three years old can be cared for in the Mouflets non-ski nursery facility in the village centre.
Children aged three to five can join the "Club des Champions" which offers non-ski indoor and outdoor activities as well as special ski nursery introductory classes in tandem with the ESF ski school - these take place in a special snow garden on the slopes (a protected area that’s a cross between a playpark and mini ski slope).
Older children can join regular ski school lessons with a selection of ski schools available to choose from.
If you are likely to want to make use of either childcare facility it’s important you reserve your place from the UK as soon as you know you’ll be going (and perhaps even check before you book your holiday if a place is vital) as spaces are limited and may be snapped up at peak times. Check too if you are required to bring any baby supplies and a medical certificate showing that your child has had the usual childhood inoculations.
The city hall (Mairie) or tourist office will be able to supply the numbers for local babysitters if required.
