Straddling the border between California and Nevada, surrounded by snow-capped peaks, lies Lake Tahoe. There are few places in the world that can rival Tahoe’s remarkable scenery - dramatic mountainous landscapes frame the crystal clear waters of the largest alpine lake in North America. Although this landscape gives us some truly incredible panoramas, it’s Tahoe’s snowsports that have really put the area on the map.
With an average of 400 inches of snowfall and 300 days of sunshine a year, your odds for perfect skiing conditions are as good as they get. Access over 500 runs, a state of the art lift system, great accommodation options, dining and après; all within an hour and a bit of Reno-Tahoe International Airport.
Lake Tahoe’s location, between two very different US states, also makes for a unique and interesting cultural experience. Ski Independence offer a selection of hand-picked hotels and condos in Lake Tahoe’s best resorts; Heavenly in Nevada and Squaw Valley in California.
Our expert reservations team are on hand to create the perfect tailor-made itinerary to suit your needs offering the best in travel options, accommodation and ski extras. We are delighted to offer a new direct non-stop flight route from Gatwick direct to Reno, saving you both time and money when accessing some of the best skiing in North America.

Heavenly is a town of two halves, perfect for anyone who really wants to get a feel for both sides of the border. The California side is the perfect place to relax and soak up the fabulous panoramic views and laid-back atmosphere. On the Nevada side the fun never stops, with plentiful world class night life, huge casinos and round the clock dining. Heavenly’s 4800 acres of ski terrain, the biggest ski area on the lake, is easily accessed from a high speed gondola from the centre of town and the views over the lake on one side and the Carson Valley on the other are simply breathtaking! Ski Independence offers accommodation as varied as the town itself from central full service resorts to secluded lakeside condos. |
