Snow Photos – our latest selection
Snowfall in Europe has been massive in the last couple of weeks which is great news for anyone either in the Alps now or going there soon. Snow-forecast.com’s latest snow overview reads, “if you’re going to France this week, you couldn’t have timed it any better.”
Over in North America, there has been as much as FIVE METERS falling at Heavenly Lake Tahoe since the start of the year and more snow is expected to across the mountains throughout the week, including Colorado’s Vail, Beaver Creek and Breckenridge; Utah’s Park City Mountain (which has received 226cm in January); and the Lake Tahoe’s Heavenly Mountain Resort (500cm in January alone!).
Here’s our round-up of the best recent snow photos from our featured resorts:

Dry, light, Canadian Rockies powder and lots and lots of it! Ski resorts all over Alberta and British Columbia are currently experiencing some of the best conditions this season. In the past 72 hours Whistler has welcomed 85cm of fresh powder bringing their cumulative snowfall this season to a massive 1015cm. Close behind them are the resorts of Mt. Norquay, Lake Louise and Sunshine Village, which make up the Banff-Lake Louise ski area, who have also seen upwards of 1 metre in recent weeks. One person lucky enough to have experienced this is Catriona, our Banff Lake Louise rep who has sent us this update on conditions. Read the rest of this entry »

Where would you head to find fresh tracks?
Mt. Norquay: Anywhere! On powder days many people head to the other two larger resorts, leaving Mt. Norquay clear for me to get fresh tracks all day, all over.
Lake Louise Ski Area: Take the Summit Platter and head down the ridge to the left. Brown Shirt, a great black run, usually collects plenty of powder. Even a few days after a storm, I often find great stashes there.
Sunshine Village: I love lapping the area to the right off Goat’s Eye chair, taking different routes each time. Or if you’re not quite a black-runner yet, the blue run Wawa Bowl is another favourite spot.
