Fairmont Gold Review

The Team May 3rd, 2016

Described by Fairmont as “our exclusive lifestyle hotel experience”, Fairmont Gold offers an extra dimension to the traditional yet relaxed luxury of Fairmont Hotels. Available in a wide range of our Canadian resorts, we wanted to give you more information about the superb levels of service and personal attention on offer with Fairmont Gold.

Fairmont Gold Review

Fairmont Gold Marquis De Lorne Suite at the Chateau Lake Louise

We could list off everything that is included – a private check-in desk, a dedicated Fairmont Gold team, a delicious continental breakfast served in the Fairmont Gold Lounge. We could tell you how big your room will be (at least 165sqft. at the Fairmont Banff Springs). Or, we could tell you what your view might be like – anyone for the Marquis De Lorne Suite at the Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise? Ok, so that’s quite a bit of information already! What really matters, though, is the experience itself. Our Ski Groups Specialist, Vikki, was lucky enough to experience the uniquely personal and discreet Fairmont Gold service in March 2016…

Our Whistler Top 10

Michael November 29th, 2011

I can’t remember what sparked the conversation in the Ski Independence office, but we worked out that between us, we’d visited Whistler Blackcomb over 60 times. That’s far more than any other ski resort we feature but there’s a very good reason; Whistler is our biggest selling North American resort.  Apart from meaning we’ve racked up a lot of both air and ski miles, and stayed in a lot of Whistler hotels it also means we know Whistler Blackcomb inside out. Our clients can therefore be confident our unrivalled Whistler knowledge allows us to recommend the perfect flight, transfer and accommodation recommendations to ensure the perfect Whistler ski holiday. Fairmont Chateau Whistler – It’ll be hard to leave…

The Team August 1st, 2011

I was lucky enough to spend a few days at the stunning Fairmont Chateau Whistler in April and needless to say when my time was up, I didn’t want to leave…

Without a shadow of a doubt, this hotel deserves it reputation, it’s Whistler’s flagship property but it’s more than just another luxury hotel. It really does have a great slope side location – I don’t think I’ve ever actually stayed somewhere and been able to ski right back to the door, but you can here. I stayed in a Mountain View Suite which was huge and had great view of the mountains and Blackcomb slopes. I had a sitting room, 2 bathrooms and an amazing bed, it’s well worth the upgrade! Ski Holiday of a Lifetime

The Team June 6th, 2011

Back at the London Ski & Snowboard Show in October 2010, we announced that Neill Hadden was the lucky winner of the competition to win the Ultimate Ski Holiday to Whistler & Vancouver. After several months of anticipation and record snowfall, Neill headed off on his trip…

April 2011 and the most amazing ski holiday began with a routine traverse of London on the Piccadilly Line! Terminal 5, for anyone who hasn’t been there is quite unlike the rest of Heathrow and really quite nice! So after some pre flight food and drink in the lounge we went onboard and upstairs on the 747 – bit of a private cabin up there with only 20 seats so loads of space and peace, lovely food and of course champagne.

Where are you going skiing in 2011/12?

The Team March 24th, 2011

This season is still in full swing, and with record levels of snow in WhistlerMammoth and Colorado my feet are still itching to get some more turns in before packing away my boots.

However, I’ve also been tempted by some of next season’s early booking offers available in both North America and Europe. The Fairmont Chateau Whistler and the Westin Resort and Spa in Whistler have a superb 50% off early booking deal, resulting in some of the best prices around. These are proving very popular with many clients having taken advantage already for next winter. I have to say that I’m pretty tempted to get my ski holiday booked early too!

Superb March conditions in Whistler

Some of the French properties are getting involved as well and have released their rates for 2011/12 – the earliest we’ve ever seen. We’re delighted to offer 10%  off a range of luxury self catered properties including four in Tignes, a brand new property in Alpe d’Huez and a new property in the resort of Val Cenis, which is on the French/ Italian border and is a very exciting addition to our European menu.

Choices, Choices… If you’re looking to next season and want to get the best price, just drop us a line and we’ll let you know the latest offers. There’re certainly some crackers out there, and it seems that the topic of conversation at the moment is “Where will we go next year?”…
