What’s new in Europe for 2010/11?

It may be the heart of summer but the excitement for the next ski season is building and our new 2010/11 brochure will be out in 14 days! We have some great new properties in our European program to whet the appetite, here are some details:

Conditions in the Alps have clearly started to turn to spring skiing with milder temperatures and plenty of blue skies .

However that does not mean a lack of snow,  10 – 15 cm of fresh snow fell yesterday in the Chamonix area, providing some excellent skiing & snowboarding. It is important that care is taken when venturing off piste as due to the mixture of winter & spring snow packs there is an increased risk of avalanches.

Video Snow Report from Chamonix – 28 Jan

Cold crisp conditions continue in Chamonix, with fluffy powder to be found off piste. 5cm of fresh snow fell on Tuesday, with more predicted through until the weekend. Here is Seb Montaz’s video snow report for Chamonix for this week.

If you want to take advantage of these conditions but can’t spare a week, Chamonix is a perfect resort for a short ski break thanks to the short transfer from Geneva airport. Take a late flight on Thursday, return Sunday night and you can have 3 full days on the mountain! Some absolutely breathtaking views from Seb Montaz’s video snow report for Chamonix as he descends from the peak of the Aiguille de Midi. 5cm of snow fell overnight in Chamonix on the 20th January, with more forecast after the weekend. Enjoy!

Video Snow Report from Chamonix – 14 Jan

This week has seen fresh snow fall all over the Alps with over a metre falling in the southern Alps, there are great conditions everywhere, on and off piste.

Chamonix also received some great fresh powder and with 42 out of 42 lifts open you will be sure to have a great trip if you’re heading that way soon. Here is Seb Montaz’s latest video snow report from Chamonix:
