Sitting here in Edinburgh I am now getting itchy feet. I've had one ski day this season and although it was a good one, Glenshee – oh the glamour, I am ready for more. In early April I head out to Steamboat and Snowmass in Colorado so I have been keeping a close eye on things out there - and there's plenty of snow to get excited about!

Steamboat has been inundated with snow recently. Over a foot in the last 24 hours.  I know where I’d rather be! And then Snowmass…over a foot in the last 24 hours. How am I going to be able to ski all that fresh snow with so little time on the slopes this season? I’ll just have to try my best. The rest of Colorado is faring well with massive dumps of snow in Vail, Breckenridge, Beaver Creek and Winter Park – all recording over 2 feet in the last week or so. If I hear the word epic once more… [caption id="attachment_5180" align="aligncenter" width="300"]Huge Snow in the USA and Canada Breckenridge 4th March 2013[/caption]

Having a look elsewhere and Banff had over 2½ feet of snow over the weekend, Whistler had more than 3 feet in three days at the end of last week! Jasper had over 2 feet in three days too: [caption id="attachment_5161" align="aligncenter" width="300"] Colin Borrow at Marmot Basin, Jasper, 3rd March 3 2013[/caption] [caption id="attachment_5163" align="aligncenter" width="225"]Huge Snow in the USA and Canada Dropping in - Whistler (by Lee Mellor)[/caption] Amazing conditions throughout USA and Canada! So good in fact that I checked my days off, but it doesn't look like I can squeeze anything in over the next few weeks. Which is a shame as we have some cracking flights and accommodation deals in Whistler, Banff, Steamboat, Aspen, Breckenridge, Vail and Beaver Creek.
