Postcard from Steamboat – Part 3 – On Learning to Ski

Jenny O Farrell October 26th, 2012

It’s DUMPING snow outside my office window right now, and my snow tires are in the garage at home awaiting installation. Uh oh! I should have escalated the importance of that task when I heard the forecast yesterday, but I was thinking more about sliding down the mountain on my snowboard than driving home from work. Vicky October 9th, 2012

Fast forward nearly 50 years and Steamboat has been developed into a world-class, family-friendly and forward-thinking ski resort with numerous accolades under its belt and an awesome snow record with over 30 feet of snow falling on average each and every year. “Champagne Powder” was coined to describe the amazing snow quality here and you’d be hard pressed to find tree skiing to rival Steamboat.
