You now cannot pay for extra bags with BA online within 24hrs of departure, ie: once online check-in starts.
Avalanche rescue backpack restrictions are as follows – One (1) per person, containing a cylinder of compressed gas in Div 2.2. may also be equipped with a pyrotechnic trigger mechanism containing less than 200mg net of Division 1.4S. The backpack must be packed in such a manner that it cannot be accidentally activated. The airbags within the backpacks must be fitted with pressure relief valves. Travelling with electronic or battery powered devices - If you are travelling with any electronic or battery powered devices (mobile telephones, tablets, e-books, laptops, etc.) you may be required to turn on your device in front of security teams and/or demonstrate the item’s functionality. If, when asked to do so, you are not able to demonstrate that your device has power, you will not be allowed to take your device with you on your planned flight. It will not be possible for you to place the item in your hand or hold luggage – you will have to leave the item behind or rebook an alternative flight. You will still be able to use your electronic devices on board subject to the normal operating rules.
