I joined Ski Independence in July 2017 after spending 12 years at Scottish Rugby where I started as an Administrator and worked my way into the Events team where I was the Event Manager for Glasgow Warriors, running the home games at Firhill and Scotstoun as well as organising the mascots and running the International Team Tunnel at International matches at Murrayfield. I also spent a couple of years working in the hotel industry as an event and wedding planner. Prior to joining Ski Independence I'd never skied, snowboarded or been to a ski resort, the closest I've come to a ski run has been walking my dogs by the dry ski slope at Hillend, Edinburgh. I've travelled to various places around the world but love nothing more than exploring places closer to home in beautiful Scotland.
I have two Cockapoos named Luke & Skye, their names were inspired by Star Wars and it is a fact that when you take them out you become Luke Skye Walker.
What inspires you?
I find people who have knowledge and a passion for what they do, what they enjoy or what they believe in very inspiring. Whether it be about sport, arts & culture, music, cooking, animal & planet welfare or travelling, etc. their enthusiasm can give me the inspiration and confidence to have a go and try something new. This has been the case when it comes to my colleagues who are extremely passionate about all things ski, before coming to Ski Independence I would had never thought about trying to ski or visit a ski resort but now it is something I am looking forward to doing one day.
What's your favourite resort, and why?
Having never been to a ski resort before I don’t have a favourite, however since joining the company Whistler has fast become the resort I would most like to visit. The reason I would like to visit Whistler is because of the stunning scenery surrounding the resort and it has lots for non-skiers to do with bars, restaurants, shops, art galleries, museums, ice skating, sleigh rides, snowmobiling, tours etc. on the doorstep.
My next trip:
I hope to take my first trip to Whistler in the very near future.
