Zermatt Ski Resort Information

The picturesque village of Zermatt, full of original Alpine charm, lies at the foot of the majestic Matterhorn in the Southern Swiss Alps and has arguably the best panoramic views of any ski resort in the world. With over 245km of pistes, many over 3100m, and 74 ski lifts, the ski area is hard to beat. The world renowned resort with its fine hotels, excellent après ski and year round snow is an ideal choice for an unforgettable holiday. It is traffic free and the final part of your journey can only be made by a 20 minute railway journey. Transport around the resort is by quaint electric taxis or horses and carriages.

The Slopes

Beginner
Three Star

The Swiss Ski School offers excellent tuition for first time skiers on Zermatt's nursery slopes. Easy slopes can be found near the Sunegga lift. Progression onto the pistes at Gormergrat will be easily achieved and you can always descend on the cog wheel train if you get tired.

Intermediate
Five Star

With access over to Cervinia in Italy, long tree lined descents, cruisy blues on the Kleine Matterhorn or more challenging reds on the Unterrothorn, intermediate skiers are spoilt for choice.

Advanced
Five Star

The slopes at Triftji are excellent for mogul runs and those at Schwarzee good for steep gullies and tree dodging. The off piste is exhilarating and has a world class reputation so is a Mecca for advanced level skiers of all nationalities.

Snowboarding
Four Star

Best suited to experienced snow boarders with excellent on and off piste challenges. There is also a terrain park and half pipe.
