Activities in Zermatt
Bowling
There is a bowling alley in Zermatt which is open daily from 5pm to midnight. On bad weather days it opens at 2pm.
Curling
Curling is a tradition in Zermatt and takes place on the natural ice rink. There are 16 curling rinks and they are from 10am – 7pm, from November to March.
Ice Climbing
Ice Climbing is an exciting winter activity and due to the freeze and thaw of ice, no climb is ever the same. There are climbs from beginners to experts. Equipment can be hired in resort.
Ice Hockey
Over the winter season, there are several ice hockey matches which are great to watch if you get the chance.
Igloo Village
The Igloo Village is a fun, icy world to visit, there is an igloo bar, an igloo fondue, you can build your own igloo and you could even hold a private party for your friends. The highlight is to stay over night – there are standard igloo which sleep up to 6 people and romantic igloos.
Paragliding
Paragliding is a very popular Alpine activity, and is such a great way to get a completely different perspective of the slopes... a bird's eye view to be exact!
Snowshoeing
Snowshoeing is a wonderful opportunity to really get away from it all to the peacefulness of the mountainside. It also offers a chance to take your time to truly appreciate the beauty of the mountains around you. There are a number of different snowshoeing routes in Zermatt for beginners to advanced.
Tobogganing
There is a toboggan ride from Rotenboden to Riffelberg and it last for about 10mins. Or you can have a traditional dinner at the Sunnegga Mountain Restaurant and then toboggan back down to Zermatt. Also, every Tuesday and Thursday you depart from the Materhorn glacier valley station to Furi and then have whiz back down to Zermatt.
