Valloire Ski Holiday Guide
The traditional, charming village of Valloire is the biggest resort in the Maurienne valley and lies at the foot of the famous Col de Galibier at the border of the Northern and Southern Alps. The ski area is made up of Le Sétaz, Le Crey and Valmeinier, offering 150km of skiing which cater for all levels of skiers. Valloire is North-facing and consequently has a particularly good snow record.
Skiing in Valloire
The Valloire ski area is best suited to intermediate skiers with over half the runs being of a blue and red level.
There are some nursery slopes near the village and more slightly higher up the mountain on Le Setaz and Le Crey du Quart.
Experts will enjoy the mogul field down into Valmeinier 1500 which offers steep, challenging bumps, as well as the other black tree lined runs.
A boarder cross and terrain park above Valloire offer fun for snowboarders and tehre are plenty of good free riding runs.
