The traditional village of Les Houches sits at the foot of Mont Blanc just 6 kms from Chamonix. With the skiing surrounded by some of the most spectacular scenery in the Alps it really is an idyllic place to enjoy winter sports. Les Houches is noticeably less expensive than some of its neighbours and the village has a good choice of traditional restaurants and pleasant bars to explore. For something livelier Chamonix is just a short bus ride away.
