Activities in Argentière
In the Chamonix Valley there are endless non skiing activities including an ice rink, a sports centre in Chamonix with tennis and squash courts, an indoor heated pool with waterslides, a new fitness centre with sunbeds, sauna, Turkish bath. There are also Sleigh rides, Heli-skiing and even Paragliding for the more daring!
There is also a funicular railway that departs from Chamonix and makes its way up to the Mer de Glace glacier. Montenvers at the top has a cafe and restaurant and is built on a rocky ridge overlooking the glacier. A further cable car which you down to the glacier where you can visit the Ice Grotto, an amazing ice cave that’s dug inside the glacier and features a collection of ice sculptures.
