"If you're looking for a great value resort and a short transfer, then Alpe D'Huez is a perfect choice. After arriving in Grenoble at 9am, we were on the slopes by 1pm - you can't get much better than that!"

Après Ski in Alpe d'Huez

With over 50 restaurants to choose from, numerous bars with live music, cafés and night clubs, there are après ski opportunities in Alpe d'Huez to suit everyone's tastes.

The latest, and arguably greatest addition to Alpe d'Huez après scene, has to be the world famous, La Folie Douce. This particular venue offers an enormous terrace area with everything from seasonaires lounging in comfy bean bags, to the VIP area were you can sample the extensive champagne menu. However, as the clock strikes 3.30pm, even the VIP's descend from their enclosed area for a dance. For the remaining 2 hours of the afternoon, live dancers put on a truly remarkable performance to live house and jazz music. If you don't fancy the dancing however, there are plenty of seats to sit back, relax, enjoy the view and soak up the atmosphere. Located at the top of Marmottes 1 chair.

La Folie's slightly quieter and much cheaper alternative is Hotel Beau Soleil. This is a great place for families, a portion of chips will only set you back a few euros and if you are looking to catch any sports games on the big screen this will be your best bet. Beau Soleil's best feature is its sun terrace, great views and friendly staff. Located at the bottom of the DMC.

The Underground, Sphere Bar and Smithy's are your best bet for some after dinner entertainment. If you are looking for live bands you are likely to find them here, check before hand to avoid disappointment. All three are open until the early hours and located in Alpe d'Huez town.
