There is a wide range of facilities in Alpe D'Huez including an indoor & outdoor pool (please note than swimming shorts are not allowed, only speedos), an Olympic size ice rink and a fantastic sports centre, Palais des Sports, - all covered in the cost of your lift ticket.

There is also an ice driving school and toboggan run and if you want to try something a bit different then there is airboarding and snow biking on Fridays at the Poutran lift.

Alpe d'Huez has 2 cinemas within easy reach. Cinéma le Signal has just 1 screen and Cinéma le Palais has 2; both showing a variety of films in both French and English.

The Alpe d'Huez Ice Caves are also highly recommended - a magical grotto of glistening sculptures and fairytale figures. Dug out many years ago by two local guides they have become an annual feature; each winter expert ice sculptors arrive to create a new exhibition based on a different theme every year. The Grotte de Glace can be found at 2700m and is accessible via the Grandes Rousses/DMC.
