Silver Star Ski Holiday Guide
Après Ski in Silver Star
Silver Star has a Dickensian feel due to its Victorian heritage - the town council insists that property owners adhere to the local tradition of brightly hued paints for their wooden homes, contributing to a storybook feel and warm, bright atmosphere.
The narrow streets in the pedestrian village are filled with cute, little boutiques, bar and restaurants. Long John's shrugs of the lazy backcountry feel and does its best to get rowdy of an evening - for the most part it succeeds. Vance Creek has trendier, younger feel for snowboardie dudes. And the Wine Cellar Lounge appeals to cosy, wine-supping fire lovers. The Craigellachie Dining Room has a fantastic menu and an extensive selection of local BC wines - remember you are in the heart of Okanagan Valley, Canada's premier wine-growing region - it would be unforgivable not to indulge.
After a few days at Silver Star, if you are still feeling a strong urge for adventure you could take a transfer to nearby Big White, You could make your trip a Twin Centre holiday and spend a few days in BW or you could just go for the day. The bonus is your Silver Star lift ticket will cover you both!
