New baggage policy for all bookings made from 30 September 2009 for travel on or after 15 December 2009

Economy = FREE checked baggage allowance is 1 piece - max 23kgs. The cost of checking a second bag will be £31 each way when the fee is paid at the airport. For customers who check in online, the cost to check a second bag will be £28 each way. If you take ski equipment (Skis+Poles+boots or Snowboard+Boots ) then this is now regarded as a 2nd bag and charges apply as above.

Business Class = FREE checked baggage allowance is 2 pieces - max 32kgs per piece*
*Skis+Poles+boots or Snowboard+Boots can be used as one 'piece'.

British Midland UK domestic add-on flights = there is a £25 charge for ski carriage each way, payable at checkin.

The new second bag fees will not apply to customers flying in United First or United Business, or to Global Services members, Mileage Plus members who have achieved 1K, Premier Executive, Premier, or Premier Associate status, or to customers who have Star Alliance Silver and Star Alliance Gold status.
