British Airways new baggage policy comes into effect on 7 October 2009.

World Traveller (Economy) = FREE checked baggage allowance is now 1 bag per person weighing a maximum of 23kgs. If you check in a 2nd bag (max 23kgs), then you pay £40 at the airport (or £32 on BA.com at on-line check in stage) – this charge is each-way. If you take ski equipment* then this is now regarded as a 2nd bag and charges apply as above. If you check in a 3rd bag (max 23kgs), then you pay £90 at the airport (or £32 on BA.com at on-line check in stage) – this charge is each-way. *Please be aware that a separate boot-bag would be regarded as a 3rd bag and charges apply as above.

Euro Traveller (Economy) = FREE checked baggage allowance of 1 bag per person weighing a maximum of 23kgs. If you check in a 2nd bag (max 23kgs), then you pay £35 at the airport (or £28 on BA.com at on-line check in stage) – this charge is each-way. If you take ski equipment* then this is now regarded as a 2nd bag and charges apply as above. *Please be aware that a separate boot-bag would be regarded as a 3rd bag and charges apply as above.

World Traveller Plus (Premium Economy) = FREE checked baggage allowance is now 2 bags per person weighing a maximum of 23kgs per bag. If you take ski equipment, this can now be regarded as the 2nd bag within this free allowance. If you want to check in a 3rd bag (max 23kgs), then you pay £40 at the airport (or £32 on BA.com at on-line check in stage) – this charge is each-way.

Club World and FIRST= FREE checked baggage allowance is now 3 bags per person weighing a maximum of 23kgs per bag. If you take ski equipment, this can now be regarded as the 3rd bag within this free allowance. If you want to check in a 4th bag (max 23kgs), then you pay £40 at the airport (or £32 on BA.com at on-line check in stage) – this charge is each-way.
